NHRC Internship 2022 | Short Term Online Internship | Get Stipend and Free Certificate

Hello, everyone! Are you in search of any government internships along with a stipend? If yes, then this opportunity by NHRC (National Human Rights Commission) is surely for you. Recently NHRC has launched an “Online Short Term Internship” for all the students out there.

Short-Term Internship Programme:

Besides the regular summer and winter internship programme which are held in May-June and December-January every year, NHRC also offers opportunities throughout the year except during months of May-June and December-January, to students from various streams especially from law stream, to have attachment with the Commission in batches on short-term basis for a period of 15 days. During the internship, the students are exposed to the functioning of various divisions of the Commission. They are also made aware of the process of complaints being attended to by the Commission as well as other issues being taken up. Allowing them interaction with the complainants also is an important feature.

Duration: This internship is of 15 days that will start from AUGUST 22 to 5th SEPTEMBER, 2022.

Eligibility Criteria:

The candidate should meet up the following requirements to be eligible for this internship:

  • Students studying in 3rd year and onwards of an integrated 5 years PG Course.
  • Students studying in 3rd/final year of graduation course.
  • Students of any semester/year of any post-graduate degree course.
  • Students of any semester/year of any post-graduate diploma course.
  • Students who are research scholars in any stream.
  • Students must have consistently attained a minimum of 60% marks in Class XII and all subsequent courses including the presently pursued courses.

Required Documents:

The candidates need to submit the following documents along with their application:

  • Scanned Self attested mark-sheets from 12th Standard Onwards.
  • Scanned Statement of Purposes (SOPs) and
  • Scanned Recommendation letter/email by HOD/Dean/Principal concerned in the annexed Proforma.

Agenda of Internship:

The interns will be going through the following works and events during the internship:

  • Address/Interaction with Hon’ble Chairperson and Members of NHRC and other domain Experts.
  • Project work on Human Right issues.
  • Book Review to be submitted by the students.
  • Films on Human Rights & Discussion – Child Labour issues, Anti Trafficking, Health including mental health and Education issues and discussions.
  • Virtual Field Visit– 1. Virtual visit to Jail 2. Virtual field visit to Police Station 3. Virtual field visit to NGO.
  • The students will get a chance to see the working of these institutions and may get their related questions addressed.

Stipend: All the interns will be given a a stipend of Rs. 2000/- (Rupees Two Thousand only) after successfully completing the internship.

Certificate: Yes, there will be a free professional certificate by NHRC for all the interns.
