ISRO is Offering an Internship at Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre | Applications are Open Now

Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre, ISRO invites applications from eligible candidates for the VSSC ISRO Internship opportunity at the Thiruvananthapuram location. The last date for application is August 31, 2023.

About ISRO:

The Indian Space Research Organisation is the national space agency of India, headquartered in Bangalore. It operates under the Department of Space (DOS) which is directly overseen by the Prime Minister of India, while the Chairman of ISRO acts as the executive of DOS as well.

About VSSC:

The Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre (VSSC) is a major space research center of the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), focusing on rockets and space vehicles for India’s satellite program. It is located in Thiruvananthapuram, in the Indian state of Kerala. The center had its beginnings as the Thumba Equatorial Rocket Launching Station (TERLS) in 1962. It was renamed in honor of Vikram Sarabhai, often regarded as the father of the Indian space program.

Duration:

The minimum and maximum duration for project work are as follows:

  • B.E./B.Tech: 45 days minimum, 90 days maximum
  • B.Sc. (Physics/Chemistry): 45 days minimum, 60 days maximum.
  • Diploma (Electronics/Mechanical/Computer Science): 45 days minimum, 60 days maximum

Eligibility Criteria:

  • The candidate should be a citizen of India.
  • Students who just completed B.E./B.Tech, M.E./M.Tech, M.Sc., Integrated M.Sc., B.Sc. (Physics/Chemistry) & BS-MS (Physics/Chemistry) program from a recognized University/Institution as a regular on-campus student with an aggregate mark of a minimum of 60% or a CGPA of 6.32 on a scale of 10.
  • A student will be allowed to pursue only one internship per degree.
  • The student shall be permitted to carry out an internship only at the ‘Unclassified Areas of VSSC/ISRO’.

Location: Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala.

Deadline: The last date for the online application is 31st August 2023.

How to Apply?

The application in the prescribed form completed in all respects by the applicant and duly approved by the Principal/HOD should be sent by post to Head, HRDD, VSSC, ISRO P.O, Thiruvananthapuram – 695 022, or the scanned copy of the application may be mailed to preethi_elizabeth@vssc.gov.in.

Things to Keep in Mind:

Biodata: Attach a detailed biodata separately with educational qualifications, previous internships/projects (if any), skills, area of interest, work experience (if any), etc
Application Form: The application form (format attached to this post) should be duly filled by the student and signed by the HOD/Principal of the College/Institution. Incomplete forms will be rejected
Submission: The completed application form should be submitted to HRDD/VSSC at least 45 days prior to the commencement of the project work block period
The Application May be sent by post to the Head, HRDD, VSSC, ISRO P.O, Thiruvananthapuram- 695022, or a scanned copy of the application may be emailed to preethi_elizabeth@vssc.gov.in
