ISRO Young Scientist Program 2022 – YUVIKA (“YUVA VIgyani Karyakram”) – Get Complete Details and APPLY before 10th April 2022
ABOUT YUVIKA YOUNG SCIENTIST PROGRAMME BY ISRO:
Indian Space Research Organisation is organising a special programme for School Children called “Young Scientist Programme” “YUVA VIgyani Karyakram”, YUVIKA, to impart basic knowledge on Space Technology, Space Science and Space Applications to the younger students with a preference to rural areas.
OBJECTIVE:
The programme is aimed at creating awareness about the emerging trends in science and technology amongst the youngsters, who are the future building blocks of our nation. ISRO has chalked out this programme to “Catch them young”.The programme is also expected to encourage more students to pursue in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) based research/career.

Eligibility:
All those applicants who fulfill the further mentioned eligibility criteria can participate in YUVA VIgyani Karyakram (YUVIKA)
- Should be an Indian citizen resident in India or overseas.
- Must possess 8th standard passing certificate.
- Must be pursuing 9th standard from a recognised school by state or Central board.
- Selection Procedure for YUVIKA.
- Three Students from each state/UT will get selected.
- 5 seats are reserved for overseas Indian citizen.
- Selection will be made on the basis of the marks obtained in the previous year examination or extra curricular activities achieved by the student.
Benefits Of ISRO Young Scientist Program:
- Students who get selected for the program will get training.
- Training program will held in summer vacations.
- The duration of the training period will be from 11th May 2022 to 22 May 2022.
- In the training program students will get information related to ISRO work, scientific research, rocket and space science.

SELECTION CRITERIA:
- Marks obtained in Class ‘VIII’ examination.
- Participation in science fair (school/district/state & above level organised by school/district/state/ central government authority) in last three years.
- Prize in Olympiad/Science competitions and equivalent (1 to 3 rank in last 3 years at school/district/ state & above level) in last three years.
- Winner of sports competitions conducted by School/Govt./Institutions/Registered Sports federation (1 to 3 rank in last 3 years at school/district/state & above level) in last three years. Winner of online games will not be considered.
- Member of Scout and guides/NCC/NSS in last three years.
- Performance in online quiz.
- A special weightage to students studying in school located in panchayat area will be provided.
