There are several types of internship at PPGF and here are the details :
ICPC Internship Programme
The aim of the ICPC Internship program is to introduce students from Indian institutions to the basics of policy-making, politics and governance.
Benefits of the ICPC Internship Programme :
- Equip yourself with the primary skill set to work with politicians and administrators (in and out of government).
- Avail internship and job opportunities (also the ones not openly advertised) in the political and policy consulting space.
- Get mentored by experienced veterans of the political and policy sectors.
Features of the ICPC Internship Programme :
- Interns will be introduced to a wide set of perspectives on the political economy through a combination of meticulously curated, self-paced online and offline modules.
- Interns will get to play an active role in the offices of political leadersand organizers and acquire hands-on experience.
Duration of the internship:
Interns are expected to stay for four months (non-continuous). Given the differing academic schedules, the self-paced nature of the program allows students to spread out their tasks over a period of time (not more than 9 months).
Stipend :
Interns receive a stipend of Rs 5000 per month. A month here implies a module worth of tasks, which interns might choose to spread out due to academic commitments.

Who can apply for the internship?
Students from all academic backgrounds are encouraged to apply to the ICPC Internship. However, the ICPC Internships are particularly recommended for final year or penultimate year students who are serious about entering the policy and political consulting space immediately after finishing their studies.

PPGF Campaign Internship :
The PPGF Campaign Internship Program facilitates internships in the political campaigns of a prominent national party across election going states in India where interns get a real-time glimpse of election campaigning. Within less than one year itself, nearly 300 interns have gotten the opportunity to work in different election campaigns for states including Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Assam, Punjab, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh and Goa.
The research, analysis and recommendations that interns work on in the course of this internship will serve as an input to the election campaigns as well as state governments of a national political party.
Who can apply for the internship?
PPGF Campaign Internship is recommended for all students who are interested in exploring the space of political consulting and policy research but aren’t sure of entering it yet.
Benefits of the Campaign Internship:
- Gain an insight into both the policy making space and the political consultancy space.
- Gain practical experience in policy making process, legal analysis and political analysis.
- Work with and under the mentorship of senior senior political leaders including party leaders, consultants and ministers
Stipend :
During the tenure, interns receive stipends ranging between Rs. 5k per month to Rs. 25k per month. The amount depends on the quality of work produced and the duration of the internship.
Minimum duration of the internship :
The minimum duration of the campaign internship is one month, however the internship can be extended for the duration of the campaign at the discretion of the intern and his/her manager.
Certificate :
All interns will receive a certificate at the time of completion of their internship with the minimum duration of the internship required for being eligible for the certificate being 1 month.

Tech Internship
The PPGF Tech Internship aims to allow students to intern in the political campaigns of a national political party in various roles relating to election forecasting, survey analysis, building data pipelines and automating tasks.
The analytical work and the software development work that interns work on in the course of this internship will serve as an input to the election campaigns as well as state governments of a national political party.
Benefits of the Tech Internship
- Work in the analytics and engineering teams of a national political party.
- Gain an insight into the functioning of statistical models in election forecasting along with the use of big data analytics in campaigns
Features of the Tech Internship
- Interns will be working on live retro model fitting, predicting elections and other elements of survey analytics.
- Interns can employ their knowledge of statistics, mathematics and data visualization to derive actionable insights that will go a long way in making an impact on a political campaign.
- Interns will also play a role in building data pipelines that automate the task of collecting, managing, and converting raw data into usable information for analysts to interpret.
Stipend?
The interns receive stipends starting from Rs. 5k per month to Rs. 25k per month depending on the quality of their work and the duration of the internship.
