Internship for B.Tech and M.Tech Students in Ministry of Road Transport and Highways

INTERNSHIP OF B.TECH CIVIL ENGINEERING STUDENTS IN NATIONAL HIGHWAY PROJECTS

Highlights of the Program:

  • Duration: 3 Months
  • Stipend: ₹10000/month

  • Number of Openings: 75

About the Program:

MoRTH has decided to provide internship to the final year (academic year 2022-23) B. Tech. Civil Engineering students of IITs, NITs and Government/Private Engineering Colleges in National Highway Projects. The period of internship shall be minimum 3 months out of which minimum 12 weeks will be assigned to the contractor and consultant of a particular highway project. The interns will be made to learn through work. A student must have secured CGPA 7.0 (score of 70% shall be considered as equivalent to 7.0 CGPA) in the completed semesters for which result has been published to be eligible for internship in NH projects.

Ministry will shortlist the applicants and allot them to different NH projects under implementing agencies of the Ministry i.e. NHAI, NHIDCL, BRO & State PWDs.

The implementing agencies of Ministry shall pay stipend at the rate of Rs10,000/- per month to the students. The implementing agencies shall provide appropriate stay and transportation facility to the interns.

There will be one mid-term evaluation and final evaluation of the interns on completion of the internship and internship certificate shall be issued to only those candidates who successfully complete internship. The method of evaluation of the interns is as under:

  • Presentation on internship learning and experience: 20 marks
  • Report on internship learning and experience: 40 marks
  • General assessment by Project manager of contractor 1concessionaire: 10 marks
  • General assessment by Team Leader of AEIIE/PMC: 10 marks
  • General assessment by PD/EE of NHAI/NHIDCL/BRO/State PWD: 10 marks
  • Attendance: 10 marks

Minimum pass mark is 75. RO, MoRTH/NHAI/NHIDCL/SE, BRO shall assess the presentation and report and award marks and finally decide if certificate to be issued to the intern based on total score.

Perks: Stay & transportation facility shall be provided.
