About IIT Bombay:
The Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay (IITB) is one of the fifteen higher institutes of technology in the country, set up intending to make facilities available for higher education, research, and training in various fields of science and technology. Professor Ganesh Ramakrishnan (department of CSE) and professor Ramasubramanian (department of humanities and social sciences) are attempting to significantly speed up the process of digitization of Sanskrit texts. Enabled by the OCR and post-editing related technologies developed at IIT Bombay, they are now seeking the participation of the community of Sanskrit lovers, software developers, machine learning enthusiasts, project managers, etc.
Important Dates:
- The certificate will be given only at the end of the pre-decided tenure
- Application Deadline: 20 June 2023
- Interview Dates: 22-25 June 2023
- Results: 27 June 2023
- Orientation: 1st July 2023
- Internship Duration: 1st July – 30th November, 2023
About the Work from Home Job/Internship:
Selected intern’s day-to-day responsibilities include:
- Conduct research and analysis on ancient Indian knowledge systems, focusing on Vedic physics, Panchanga, and Mendeleev’s periodic table based on Panini’s Ashtadhyayi.
- Explore insights from ancient texts and scientific manuscripts.
- Present research findings, participate in project meetings, and contribute to the overall progress of the internship program.
Requirements:
- Full-time candidates would be preferred
- However, part-time candidates available for a minimum of 5 hours a day, 6 days a week will also be considered
- B.Sc./B.Tech/BS candidates
- Master’s degree (desirable but not mandatory)
- Knowledge of Sanskrit is preferred
Who Can Apply?
- Are available for the work from home job/internship.
- Can start the work from home job/internship between 8th June 2023 and 13th July 2023.
- Are available for duration of 5 months.
